Life at the Hess's

I haven't posted much about the family lately so I thought I would tell you a little about our past weekend:)

We spent the weekend down at Allison's sisters house at the beach. Well you can image the fun the boys had with the whole family hanging out at the beach. So here are a few images I captured between relaxing...running after the boys...eating...running after the boys...and well lots of fun!

Hudson was finding a new friend...the kitty cat

Hmmm, I wonder what sand tastes like?

Thats kinda good...

...I think I like it!

Now, wheres that kitty!

I must say that I think this is one of the cutest images I have captured of Hudson...

It is so much fun being a dad! I love photographing my family and capturing images that we will cherish for years to come. I look back over the few hundred images we captured this past weekend and I think to myself how can I only pick a few images to share with you? I love this image and that image and oh my...this...this is such a Hudson! The best part is that I have the images now. What happens if I never took my camera along with me...what if I never captured a moment when sisters are being sisters and grandparents are being grandparents? It is times like this that I stay up all hours of the night working on images because I am passionate about capturing images, recording life, seeing the things that I may have never seen before.

I often have people mention to me that they see things in my images that they never saw before. This comment always makes me want to stop and look for more little moments. Stop and smell the flowers...you know...well, have you stopped and look around you?

Right now the earth seems to be coming alive...all the spring colors! It seems as though each year I say to myself, I never remember seeing the spring blossoms look this brilliant! Isn't amazing! I come home everyday to see my little boys eating dinner...i watch my wives tummy growing with our new little baby inside of her...I listen to hear Hudson say another new word. Oh what a privilege it is to be a dad!

I also find myself in the quiet of the evening reflecting...on life. I have been blessed. I have been blessed because there have been times where I have stopped to listen, stopped to hear, stopped to capture a moment, where I have just stopped! Have you stopped lately? Could I challenge you to stop...just for five minutes...maybe fifteen. Look around you, change your view...sit on the floor, climb to the top of the building you are working on and look out. What do you see?

I see life happening...do you see it?

I think this is why I love my job so much! I believe that God created you and me. I believe that He wants us to see the beauty He made for us...it is all around us. Have we stopped to see it lately? Have we taken a moment to say thank you? Maybe its time to say thank you right now?

If you want to...leave me a comment and tell me what you see. Send me a photo of an image you have captured...
I spent a bit of time sharing...now its your turn to share and mine to listen:)

Construction Update

Hey Everyone,

Sorry its been a little while...we are making lots of decisions these days about construction and desks and networking and the list continues. I am excited to keep you up to speed with the progress of the new studio!!

We got inspected today...but of course there a few little things that need updated...like more fasteners in the one wall. Nothing major to worry about because the GC is doing a great job!! The drywall crew will start this week and then we start making this place look like the real deal!

The ceiling is painted, we networked the whole studio (blue wires) and now we are working on the windows next. I will update you again soon!

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment! Thanks
