because we are in the busy season right now...mommy has been creative in helping me find ways to connect with the boys and so we can spend as much time together because of my time away from the fam during the weekends...so we had lunch together to day at the new studio...

Hess Family Update

Hey Everyone,

I haven't posted in a bit and wanted to say hello and give you a little update on the fam...

So this past weekend Amanda and I photographed a wedding up at PennState.

My wife graduated from PennState so we decided it would be best to spend Sunday as a family hangin out at the PennState campus. Well you know it just brings back sweet memories when you walk through a place with your wife were you used to walk around as boyfriend and girlfriend. Oh yeah, but we didn't exactly stroll through campus hand in hand as we used to...we ran after the boys and ran more after the boys, and watched the boys run after the squirrels. We laughed and giggled at our incredible little blessings and with smiles on our faces hoped and anticipate little lady Hess coming in the fall! Wow, can you imagine another little one in the Hess household...

Meredith & Dan

Hi It's Nicola again posting on Mer & Dan's wedding! I just loved some of the emotional moments that happened during the day. Dan had bought Meredith a gorgeous bracelet which his dad brought down to give to Meredith while she was getting ready. It was a moment so easy to capture as we watched Meredith's expressions as her soon to be father-in-law gave her the bracelet and whispered into her ear something special. Then, during the ceremony Dan's sister sang a song which was written by Meredith's dad. It certainly made my eyes a little wet! :O)

Meredith and Dan are so easy going and up for anything! It was fun capturing a few shots by Bube's Brewery and heading off to a local park to make use of the golden light that was coming through the trees. Then we headed to the Eden Resort for a party! Meredith's dad is in a Jazz band and they had brought in a 20 piece band for the entertainment that night along with a mini lesson on how to foxtrot!

And low and behold, Mer & Dan had a secret plan that during the cake cutting they were going to smash the cake into their best gal and best guy's faces. I don't think they had any idea it was coming! They were good sports about it though! Good job the cake tasted delish! ;o)

Marta & Kyle

Wow! Marta and Kyle had an amazing day! Despite a 'little' bit of heat, we all endured this outdoor wedding! It was at a gorgeous property here in Lancaster. Kyle's dad has a business associate that said he would never allow for a wedding to be hosted there...well...I guess Mr. Horst had worked with this guy for long enough that he was able to twist his arm a little ;o) It was beautiful...with a pond, gazebo and lots of space to run around! Even better the ceremony was in this lil nook between some trees. It was nice to be in the shade!

Marta and Kyle were a such a "fun" couple. Now, i know the word "fun" is so standard these days, but these guys were really totally fun! I just loved Marta's spunky personality and Kyle is so easy going and quiet...but when you get him going, he gets going! ;O)

We have officially moved! :O) Hip Hip Horay!

So it is now official!!! We are now in our new space and up and running again! We haven't moved far though...we are one street away- off west end onto first street on the right hand side.

The new address is: 824 First Street. Lancaster 17603. We are in the space right after the new hair salon. If you need to get to us and can't find us call our office at 717-390-7050.

We are excited about the new opportunities ahead of us!!

iPhone for Daniel - YAY!

Little update on the personal side - JUST GOT A IPHONE! Yeah, I know, it's awesome. LOL. Anyway, here was my experience in photographs. Got to the ATT store around 4:30AM Friday they were released. Did a couple time lapse kind of photographs (showit shows). Then of course just some pictures of people waiting around for doors to open. I managed to get 4th in line 2nd for a 16GB so it worked out well. I was slightly irritated because somehow the shipment of 16GB iPhones were delayed and so I had to wait for another 2.5 hours on top of the 3.5 that was from 4:30-8:00. So it was quite a long morning but definitely worth it! All in all it was a great experience, and fun to talk to other Apple fans and getting to know the other people in line. Props to the number one guy who was there by 1AM and camped out there. After about a week of using "mr. white" as I have fondly titled my iPhone, I am super happy and very pleased with all aspects of the product. Everything has worked flawlessly, and it is everything that I had hoped it would be. Thanks to Apple for making another amazing product! : )

FINALLY HOME AT LAST!

Baby Annika :: 3 weeks

The other day I was able to photograph baby Annika! She is sooo tiny! I just loved her feet...and she just looked sooo cozy in daddy's arms. Annika is the youngest baby I've photographed yet. I'm hoping to get a real newby newborn sometime soon (6 days old would be perfect!!) but we had fun with this lil munch kin at 3 weeks old! Check out some of my favorite images for the session.

Kristen & Jason :: LOVE

Jeremy and I (nicola) had a blast at Kristen and Jason's wedding! We were at the River Crest Gold Club and both the ceremony and reception was held there. I know Kirsten through my sister. They went to university together. I remember before they were engaged her and my sister talking about rings wondering who was going to get proposed to first ;o) Kristen looked stunning and Jason was a hoot! What a genuine guy he is. We enjoyed some gorgeous evening sun for some portraits and it was a party inside with a conga line, shakers and tambourines!

Studio Portraits

Hi, this is Marci posting for the first time! Currently I am responsible for inquiries and anything that needs done in the office, but I am learning more about photography and hope to be photographing with the team in the next year. My family and I "tested out" the new studio with Jeremy last Saturday morning and here are the results...let us know what you think. The new space is fun and Jeremy did a great job putting everyone at ease. One amazing aspect of these images is that this was all natural light~ no flash or studio lighting required!

Bling Bling

As you know, we are wedding enthusiasts here at Jeremy Hess Photographers. And ... well ... now that Nicola's engaged, there isn't much time for anything else but even more weddings wedding weddings! Here is her engagement story. Enjoy!

An interview between Amanda and Nicola:

A: So what do we have here?

N: Umm, this would be my bling bling.

A: How 'bout if you tell the folks how David proposed.

N: Well (sigh) ... to make a long story short (for blog purposes) ...

It was June 30th at 10:30 pm. We had just finished dinner, and decided to boulder up HorseTooth Mountain in Fort Collins (Colorado that is).

A: Seriously, is that the real name of the mountain?

N: Yes. So back to my story ...

We got to the top, when we were looking at the city lights and up at the starry, starry sky.

A: Did you see the Big Dipper?

N: As a matter of fact, we did. Back to my story again. So I was telling David that when I see a starry sky, I often ask God to show me a shooting star. Jokingly, I also said, "I even, sometimes, wish upon them." Little did I know, I was setting myself up for my own proposal!! At this point, David took the opportunity and said, "Let's pretend that there is a shooting star in the sky right now. What would you wish for?" I told him "A million dollars," smirked, and then said, "You know what I would wish for!" It kind of got blurry at this point, but I'm pretty sure he pulled out a ring box and said "Would you wish for this?!" I could hardly see it because it was dark outside. Then he asked me the big question (finally after three and a half years!) and I said YES! Then we shone the flashlight on the box so I could see the ring.

A: What was your first reaction when you saw the ring?

N: I was shocked! He exceeded my expectations!

A: Do you know where you will be getting married?

N: Yes, Lily Manor in Mifflin, Pa! We have a date set for next May.

A: ok, one more question. What are you most excited about?

N: It would most definitely have to be the photography! Although I am a little nervous because I'm not used to being on the other side of the camera.

A: Well, we are all very excited for you!

Danielle & Chris

Another really hot day! Jeremy and Nicola headed out on June 21st to spend some time with Danielle and Chris. Despite the heat, they were able to use the sunshine to their advantage. During the reception, things got pretty crazy when a friend of the couple stole the microphone from the dj! He made sure to let other guests have a try at singing, including Nicola!! What a fun day!

Beth-Anne & Matt

Jeremy and Voni had the pleasure of photographing Beth-Anne and Matt on June 20th. Beth-Anne's natural, elegant beauty radiated throughout the entire day. The couple shared their very first kiss during the ceremony! It was obvious how meaningful this moment was, and it was easy to see the awesome connection that this couple has. Their devotion to each other is incredible. Thank you for sharing your day with us!

Nicola a Mrs???

Hey it's nicola and im back from Colorado...just wanted to update the world with my exciting news...im getting married!!! After working in the wedding industry for over 4 years now...its finally my turn! Yippie! Unfortunately i do not have any pictures to post at the moment because he did it on a mountain in Colorado at 11:30pm...so it was kind of dark out. For now...here is a shot i got during the week while we were at the Garden of the God's as the sun was going down and a storm was brewing! Hopefully i'll get a pic of David and I up on here soon!
