Paul & Victoria were married June 12th in Harrisburg. I am excited to share with you a few favorite images that honor the culture and tradition of Paul and Victoria's wedding day. The wedding events started at 8AM Saturday with the family gathering at the groom's house. Victoria readied herself at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harrisburg. We all meet at the John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion for the Don Dau ceremony. After the Don Dau ceremony we headed back to prep for the English ceremony. Along the way to the second ceremony we capture a party and Paul and Victoria's portraits at a number of favorite locations in Harrisburg. St Margarent Mary Church was the site for the second ceremony. The church was quite new and I was excited to be capturing the new design and architecture of the worship space.

To the Lancaster Marriott Hotel in Lancaster City we headed. It was time to celebrate!! There was even a little surprise for Paul and Victoria that brought a wonderful evening a little more culture and energy!! Thank you so much for this wonderful privlege of work with you Paul and Victoria...bless your marriage!

Hello Everyone,

Can't wait for you to see a few of our favorite images from Racyne and Mark wedding in May. Billy captured a number of great images of the guys prep at Mark's house while I captured at the Crowne Plaza. Carmina Cristina created the look Racyne wanted for her makeup and I had the privilege of capturing a true artist at work. Racyne and Mark decided to see each other before the wedding at a park in Harrisburg. So we headed to Italian Lake for the first meeting. The party came later to join us for some portraits.

We then headed to the little river town of Steelton were the couple grew up. The church was stunning and was a joy to capture at the couples home church. After the ceremony we headed to the Harrisburg Country Club. There was quite a bit of anticipation to see the ballroom and Racyne and Mark were not disappointed!! Cindy and the staff from HCC did a fabulous job of creating the look and feel that Racyne was looking for!! Mike Miller was the DJ and keep everyone on the dance floor for a fun party and celebration of Racyne and Marks wedding!!

Tisha and Josh were married at the Old Mill in Media, PA May 14th. I had never met this couple until two days before the wedding because they live in Las Vegas. Often when photographing weddings I have time to spend with the couple getting to know them, a little about the family, and there hearts desire for the wedding day. This wedding was a little different because we were not able to meet...so I came to this wedding with a different perspective and anticipation.

As photographers we are given a gift to capture pictures of total strangers that trust us with the one day that will change their lives forever. The one day that all the family will gather to talk, laugh, and cry together in celebration of love being past on to another generation. On May 14th, I found myself caught up in the celebration and emotion of Tisha's life as her uncle told the story of him saving her from choking. In this moment there was joy, tears, and appreciation rarely shared in the busyness of life. What a gift and privilege it was to capture this moment. Never again will there be a time such as this...

Enjoy the moments captured and remember in your minds eyes the joy of this May 14th Tisha and Josh. But, if your mind grow dim...here is a gift of images so that you may not forget the love you were surrounded with on this your wedding day. Bless you and your family as they pour out the emotions of life together.

Mara & Gabriel celebrated their engagement at Bent Creek Country Club May 8th. They enjoyed a small intimate ceremony that I was invited to capture. Two weeks later, they were married in Romania.

The joy about photographing this event for me was that the ceremony was performed in a different language. I could not understand a word the priest said but...I could perceive what he shared. Hello Everyone

Blog time again and we have a number ready to go!!

Cathy and Austin married on April 24, 2010 in New Holland, PA at Petra Christian Fellowship. I wanted to share with you a set of images captured during the ceremony that have blessed me and have given me more passion for capturing images. Let me explain...

As I look over these images I see more than just people wearing nice clothes...maybe clothes they may never wear again. I see more than just people standing on a stage and in places of prominent view (even if they don't like being on center stage). What I do see is:

Two mom's lighting a candle reflecting on the life of the one they now release...

A man in transition to something new and exciting and something he has long been anticipating...

the support of little and big...

the joy in receiving and giving away to the more that is in store...

a community of people surrounding one another in worship of a Creator that surrounds them...

the encouragement of mentors that will help guide Cathy and Austin and be there yesterday, today, and for years to come...

a commitment being made and instruction being given and the mystery of two becoming one...

participating with elements to remember this day that they are no longer two individuals but now together, forever...

prayers and knowledge of others being imparted to Cathy and Austin...

a first kiss...literally...this is something that I have rarely seen or have had the privilege of capturing...

...this is a series that I wish hugs and smiles could talk...or do they?

the joy ahead of a new life together as Mr. and Mrs...

Bless you Cathy and Austin...your commitment to one another has inspired me...your family and relationships challenge me...may these images be a reminder of that cool April day where you became one!

Excited to be back on and posting again!!

Rivedale in the spring time!! Brook and Marc were blessed with an incredible wedding day! It was such a privilege to be capturing a wedding in spring. Every time I photograph I am excited about the images, but this spring day, at such a great location, with such beautiful people...wow...I was a little overwhelmed. Kristen Green from Tangles worked with Brooke on hair and make up. Flowers were arranged by Carmen Horst. Riverdale was stunning.

But, what captured my heart was the love and commitment that Brooke and Marc had for one another. Through time spent and learning about the couple I found that their relationship was unique in how they found each other. How one needed the other in the midst of life. It was as though a net caught them and stopped them side by side. And, now, they will never be separated as they joined as one on April 9th 2010.

Bless you and your marriage Marc and Brooke, may the net of your love keep you in line with one another, may it support up in the waves of life, and may you be bond to one another as one. Thank you for the gift of photographing your wedding. May these images remind you of the start to forever as one.

Hey Everyone,

Its part 2 of the Click Blog 4 Love winners! Jen and Ryan have quite a story of how their love for one another has grown deeper and wider than they could have comprehended in such a short time of marriage! It was just one year into Ryan and Jen's marriage when Jen had to undergo a major surgery on her brain. It was through this experience that Jen learn about the love and the value of Faith, Family and Friends.

As I approached this capture session I desire to capture something more than pictures of pretty people. I desire to capture a story of the love and support. We chose to keep things simple and clean to communicate the love of Jen and Ryan for one another.

This is my most favorite image of the capture session. During this time of capture there was a sweet spirit of love and support that surrounded Jen as she looked around at the support letters, felt the loving touch of Ryan holding her, and the weight of the Bible on her lap to look to in times of needed encouragement.

I am excited to share with you the pictures of the winners from our Click Blog 4 Love winners. The first winner I captured was DJ Freez and Candace. I have know and worked with Freez for years now but had no idea that Freez was thinking about asking Candace to marry him. As we reviewed the entries for the contest I started reading Freez's entry (not knowing it was Freez) and could not believe what I was reading!! He wrote Candace a poem and at the end of the poem he would ask her to marry him!! I thought what an honor to be invited into this special moment in their lives.

Ashley and Curtis get MARRIED!

Ashley and Curtis are two extremely sweet people. Pearl and I had a blast capturing their special day last week, and were thrilled at what a cool day it was.

Here are a couple of things about their day that we loved:
- the weather was simply amazing! It was one of the nicest spring days of the year so far.

- Curtis had a way to make us and everyone else laugh. He has a spunk and humor to him that make smiles creep on your face without you even noticing.

- They had the coolest, funniest, wildest dancing kids you could ask to be at your wedding. Seriously these guys could go on the road as party entertainment.

- Gram (aka Curtis’s Grandma) was the best senior dancer I’ve ever seen. She really knows how to “get down with her bad self” and one can see where Curtis gets his spunk from.

- Ashley’s eyes are amazing! She’s a gorgeous girl, who simply looked fabulous. Plus she was super sweet all day.

- And there are about another hundred things I could write but I’ll stop it there and let these pictures speak for themselves.

Ashley and Curtis, thank you again for inviting Pearl and I to celebrate with you on your special day. You guys are a special couple and I wish you the best in your new marriage.

Love is in the air...

Walking around Lancaster City with a landscape architect and school teacher makes for some amazing conversation. Chris could share on the style of the streets, the shape of courtyards, and how the history of Rome can be seen throughout our city. At the same time, Kelly enlightened me on the use of imagery and pictures to help students who are born with speaking disabilities learn how to connect words with objects. I felt like my IQ increased just by being around them!

Well, these two intellectual ones are also in love and we are looking forward to their “Black Friday” wedding this coming fall.

Here are a couple my favorite images from our stroll around the city, and I look forward to sharing some more pictures of them come November.

As Taylor and I walked out the door to have our wedding portraits taken, Jeremy asked us to grab an umbrella to keep some of the snow off of us as we walked. I had no idea the umbrella would actually be in the pictures! If we knew, we could've planned better to have a matching, more decorative umbrella over our heads. Now that people have seen our pictures, we've gotten the suggestion several times that we should send our umbrella picture to WGAL to see what happens. Well I finally took that advice yesterday and decided to email one of our photos to WGAL. As luck may have it, I received an email from Doug Allen this afternoon saying that we were going to be on the news this evening! What a blessing this big blue and white umbrella turned out to be! Check us out at 5pm tonight! Thank you Jeremy for having us grab an umbrella and for capturing this beautiful photo!

Airplanes, Love, and an Amazing story

Tina has experience some amazing times in her life as well as some uncommonly difficult times. These experiences now make her the amazing person she is. Nate remained a faithful friend through these peaks and valleys and one day when they looked at each other they realized that the person they thought was only a dear friend, was actually the one they desired to spend the rest of their lives with.

Their first date was at the Lancaster Airport where Nate stores his plane, and so it was only fitting for their engagement pictures to be taken there as well.

I’m excited to continue to get to know each of these amazing people and to share with you here on the blog their amazing wedding day.

Meet "Click Blog for Love" winner Lesa

A couple of weeks ago we hosted a “click blog for love” contest where we asked you to tell us your love story. The studio, and some friends from FIG, picked our favorites and offered a couple of lucky couples a free Valentines portrait session. Well, today we're finally posting our first session, and all I’ve got to say is “it was so much fun!”

Lesa submitted an adorable poem that captured in words the love she has for her husband and her family. After only spending a couple of minutes with them, I found myself asking “who couldn’t love this family?”

Her husband is a classy and smooth pilot, almost like a modern day James Bond. Her Daughter is a bubbly bundle of sunshine that simply brightens a room. And last but not least, her son is a wild man that would make any dad proud, and he’s currently training to become a Jedi knight.

Anne & Taylor Tied the Knot!

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited to post Anne and Taylor's wedding photos today!! Anne is our studio coordinator and she was married to Taylor on Jan. 30th down in Gap PA. Anne has been such a blessing to Jeremy Hess Photographers since she began working in April of 2009.

Nicola Herring and I were honored to photograph her wedding day. Nicola worked with the girls with prep and Anne's portraits and I worked with the guys. Anne wanted to see Taylor before the ceremony. We set them up to see each other outside just as the snow began to fall. I was so excited for Anne because one of her only desires was to capture pictures out in the snow... her prayers were answered!!! The party was amazing to work with as they braved the snow for once in a lifetime photos. Thank you so much for your willingness party...Anne and Taylor will never forget these unique images!!

Christy & Jesse - MARRIED!

Hello Everyone,

It's my first wedding for 2010!!! I was so excited to be photographing in the new year at a new location. Billy and I went to Gettysburg to capture Christy and Jesse's wedding day Jan. 23rd. It was an incredible day with great light and venues. You may remember Christy and Jesse pictures from their engagement back in the summer in Harrisburg...Incredible light!!

Billy started out at the Gettysburg Hotel with prep for the guys and I meet Christy and the girls at the church two blocks away for some prep pics. One of the first things I noticed about Christy and her family was the love for one another. There is always little things throughout the day that fascinate me and I enjoyed watching Christy's parents interact with one another too.

You will notice that the church was unique in its design of stained glass windows and I think we captured some great light illuminating through design. The front of the church was also stunning and lent itself to a great backdrop for the party pictures.

After the ceremony we walked to the Gettysburg Hotel just two blocks away. This was a fun and unique element that really opened up a few moments for us to capture images of the party having fun!! Christy had a few other images and requests in mind for me to capture images around the square. I really enjoyed the clock and hotel as the backdrop, but my most favorite images were by the railroad tracks and theatre marquee...Christy was so fun in front of the camera!! Great work Christy!

Hey Guys and Gals, Matt here. I love meeting brides and grooms, I love hearing their stories and finding out what makes them uniquely them. I love hearing how they met, how they feel in love, and how the big question was popped… the art of sharing our lives with each other is a beautiful thing.

I meet Shawn and Lisa a couple of weeks ago here in our studio. He is a web developer, she is a nurse. They fell in love and this summer they will celebrate their love and become Mr. and Mrs. Groupe.

Here’s a couple of images from our short time together. We walked around an old warehouse downtown, then to a couple of their favorite places in the city.

We then wrapped it all up with a nice delightful chai from a local coffee house and some fun conversations about life.

Babies, Engagements, & friends... gotta love all three

I love my friends, and I guess that’s a good thing if they want to stay friends for long. One thing I love doing is taking pictures of my friends; to celebrate their life with them not only in friendship but with my camera. This past week I had two friends ask me to help capture the unique seasons of life they are now in.

The first was the Atkinson’s. Paul and Whitney are two amazing people who have literally traveled the world over trying to make it a better place. They enter a room with great stories as well as great hearts. They will shortly move from being a family of 2 to a family of 3, and they wanted to remember the excitement and joy of this special moment in life.

James and Kalyn are two friends who live in the city. They have culture and style that I’m secretly envious of, and talents that make most of the world turn their head to notice (James is an unbelievable musician). Well, Kalyn succeeded in what many others tried to do and stole this musician’s heart, and this summer will make him her husband. They are both great people, and it was simply a blast capturing their engagement photos, and we look forward to photographing their wedding this summer.

Red Carpets, pool chairs, and Love

Hello old friend. Well, at least that’s what my fingers are thinking as they rest upon the keyboard keys this morning. So, here’s my opportunity to be “that Guy” and rub it in the face of everyone reading that my entire past week was spent in sunny Florida, in pool chairs, great books, lingering conversations with my wife and the simple delight of knowing I was doing nothing and that was exactly all I had to do. But all good things must come to an end, but lucky for me last week’s good thing only lead to this week’s good thing of being back in the studio.

I like our studio, it’s welcoming and inspiring to me. In a weird let’s go sit on the “fifty yard line” quarterback kind of way. But needless to say, it’s good to be back.

On a side note there was some humor of going from 83 degree beach weather to 6 inches of snow in Baltimore. That snapped me back to reality real quick.

(gotta love phone pictures!)

Speaking of great weeks. The studio had a great event last weekend. Hopefully you were able to make it out to the Red Carpet Event. Close to 400 people walked down first street, making merry and simply enjoying a fun evening together. We were excited not only to get to share some time with friends and make new ones but to also collect over 900 pounds of food for Water Street Ministries as well as $300+ worth of cash denotations. So that night we ate and made merry but also rallied together to empowered others to do so as well.

But, true to nature. We had our cameras going and you can’t have that much fun without sharing. So, here’s a little slideshow of what happened.

Happy New Year!!!

Well, to start off the New Year we wanted to give you our first ever video blog. We hope you guys enjoy it and that you're able to laugh at us as much we did, being on video just feels weird some days, but we're planning on improving. Jeremy Hess Photographers invites you and a guest to our Red Carpet Affair, celebrating the opening of "Style on First" this Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 7:00-10:00 PM.

We'll have great entertainment and an award-winning progressive desert bar as you travel from shop to shop. You'll start off at Jeremy Hess Photographers and travel the red carpet through Luxe Salon and Day Spa while jamming to the tunes of DJ Freeze. Then, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how couture wedding gowns are made at Janell Berté's new location for Lancaster Bridal, finishing off at Sweet Infinity's cafe. All the while sampling tasty desserts along the way.

The event is benefiting the Water Street Ministries, so all guests are encouraged to bring a food pantry item for donation. Attire is elegant evening wear.

Amanda & Jon - MARRIED!

Hello Everyone,

Wanted to post another great Lancaster wedding!! It is so exciting to be posting more images and thanks so much for your patience to see more pictures!

As I reflect on Amanda and Jon's day one thing stands out...it is the people in Amanda and Jon's life that they remembered throughout the day. The first image you will see is in honor of Amanda's Grandma. I wish I could learn more of the impact Grandma had on Amanda but it was evident in the desire for this picture. One of Amanda's first request was to honor her Grandma by capturing the details of the a chair that was given to Amanda and the jewelry that Amanda wore.

I also find the first dances such a sweet time to capture. The way dad quietly played home movies in his mind as he danced with Amanda. Jon's mom trying to hold back the emotions of her heart as she danced with Jon...maybe for the first time. My job is to capture moments that tell the story...a question to you the viewer is, can you image the stories behind the people?

Lancaster City wedding and Eden reception...

Wendy and Andrew were married on 09/19/09. One of my favorite things about photographing and capturing wedding stories is that you can go to the same locations you have been to in the past and see something completely different. I really can't tell you how many times I have captured pictures in downtown Lancaster, but what I can tell you is that every time I go out I see something different, unique, and that helps tell the story of my subjects.

Take the Eden for example: Same room but always changing light. You can capture different perspectives during toasts, different background for first dance, and the always eventful cake cutting is a surprise with who will be in the background of the images...

Thanks so much Wendy and Andrew for the privilege and honor to capture your wedding day! I hope as you walk through Central Market five years from now your mind Andrew, will go back to the image of you kissing Wendy's forehead and it will transport you back to Sept. 2009. I hope that when you walk through Longs Park 15 years from now Wendy...maybe with your children and sit on the bench by the old walnut tree and look at the lake...you will remember Sept 2009. I hope that as you look over the images today you will remember the joy of your first love in each other. Blessings to you Wendy and Andrew, may these images bless you for years to come....

Hello Everyone,

I'm excited to be posting another stunning Hershey wedding!! This was the first time we photographed an outdoor reception at the Hershey Gardens. Wow!! What an incredible place to photograph!!

Anne wore a Janell Berte dress and looked stunning!

Shumaker PDT created the lighting for the evening. I was amazed how much of a difference the lighting made in the quality of the imagery. I photographed most of the evening all available light...so amazing!

The band was from CTO...ROCK IT...one of the best bands I have ever worked with...but it was CTO and they are ALWAYS kickin it!!

Katie & Matt - Married!

Hello Everyone!!

Seriously!! ITS NOVEMBER!! So sorry that we have not blogged for quite sometime!!! So here goes...

Katie and Matt live in Dubai and they contacted me because I photographed a friends wedding three years ago. Through lots of emails, phone calls, and a number of meetings when Katie and Matt were back in the States...I got to know this great couple. I describe Matt and Katie as if they are movie stars. They travel the world on weekend adventures, are wildly successful in business, and could both be models. What fascinates me most of all is that they are real people, just like you and me. Yes, they do things that most of us only dream of...but when it all comes down to it...they are two people that fell in love, found true friends in one another, and chose to commit themselves to each other for the rest of their lives.

Matt's Story:

Matt is a SQ1 fan. Enjoys the city life. Spins fire for fun.

Did I say spin fire...yeah! When meeting with Matt and his mom to discuss ideas and locations for senior pictures, they mentioned that Matt spins fire. After a few questions, I thought this was a brilliant way to capture some of Matt's story. So off to SQ1 and the 300 block of Queen, then back to the PCAD front law for some evening pic's of Matt spinning.

I was not exactly sure what to expect or how to capture Matt but I think we worked some great images of one of Matt's favorite forms of art: POI Spinning. Matt, i look forward to the next time we get to work together and capture more art! Blessings and spin safe!

Vivian & Aaron - MARRIED!

Hello Everyone,

I am excited to share with you another fabulous wedding! Vivian and Aaron live in Florida but Aaron grew up here in Manheim Township. So, I meet Aaron at his parents home were he got ready for a few portraits and Nicola meet Vivian at the Eden Resort were she prepared. Vivian was then escorted to the ceremony in a Bentley with her mom and dad. In the prep room of the Highland Presbyterian Church, Vivian finished her final touches and gorgeous portraits in front of the stained glass windows (great work Nicola!) After the ceremony we captured a few portraits at the church the off to Greenfield Industrial park for a few portraits in the willow trees, then back to the Eden in the Bentley for the reception.

The Eden was stunning! Kelly Steadman from All Things Beautiful worked with the florial design and the staff at the Eden Resort Inn served a delightful 4 course elegant dinner. Then if was time for fun, laughter and of course some great dancing in the evening with Ellen Wascou at Stardust Entertainment Dj's.

Jackie and Levi get hitched

Hey Eveyone,

Wow! I am excited to post our first Lancaster County Convention Center wedding reception!!! You may remember Jackie and Levi's engagement pictures from the beginning of the year...Well, their wedding day arrived on Saturday and I was privileged to get another chance to work with them!

Nicola and Lauren started out at Jackie's house for prep and I went to Levi's house just around the corner from the girls. The girls captured some stunning images of Jackie and the bridesmaids while I worked a few images with the guys over at the barn. Levi is from Texas so we found a few ways to honor his roots! Then it was off to St. Mary's in a BIG Texas size limo!!

Ceremonies always have great little stories everywhere...from the little flower girl not quite making it down the aisle to the little ring bearer's lost and found flower (it almost stayed on). Another part of the ceremony that is becoming more and more heart felt for me is watching the Father of the bride put his daughter's hand into the hand of another man...hmmm that is going to be emotional!! The images of Jackie's dad are some of my favorites of the day!!

We planned for pictures at the park after the ceremony but due to the rain it was cut short. We did, however, capture some stunning images of Jackie and Levi before heading back to the city for some rain speckled Central Market images. Then came another highlight of my day...photographing at the Convention Center. I have photographed at the LCC a number of times but this was my first wedding there...what great times!!

What a gorgeous day for such an awesome couple! It was amazing to see how Shawnee and Phil interacted together; with little things like their gifts before the wedding. Liz and Jon were INCREDIBLE! Never in my entire career of photography has anyone been so at ease with the weather. For example when they held the ceremony outside and it rained throughout the entire ceremony. They acted like they had planned it that way. As such it was one of the most beautiful and stunning ceremonies that I have ever photographed. There was so much love and emotion displayed throughout the event. Nothing could hold these two back. Liz and Jon, thank you for sharing your day with Amanda and I. It was an incredible wedding that I know is only a glimpse of the incredible love that you share. Hello again everyone!

It is so exciting to be back and blogging another great capture session. Liz and Adam will be getting married next year (2010) and asked if would capture some engagement pictures at Pheasant Run this past week. I have to admit that Pheasant Run has a special place in my heart because Allison and I were married there 5 years ago!!

Wow!! So many upgrades have happened since Allison and I were married there! But you know, it doesn't matter how many upgrades you give to a property because it is the people that make the place special!! It was so great working with Liz and Adam even though the weather was quite hot.

I enjoyed how natural and these two worked with each other. I simple needed to find some great light and let them be themselves. Great job Liz and Adam and i will look forward to 2010!!!

Cortney & Mark - Engaged!

Hello Everyone,

Cortney and Mark are getting married this coming Nov. and as Cortney and I talked details for the wedding she confessed that she was a little nervous about getting her picture taken. I suggested that we set a time to capture some engagement photos to help break the ice and nerves. So the next question was where?? We talk about locations that were significant to both Cortney and Mark. We came up with the first place where they meet...a ball field outside of York PA. Well as schedules filled up, Mark suggest that we change locations last minute. Mark is a pitcher for the Orioles and had a few days off over All Star break and suggested we capture images on the field!!

I was so excited to go down and capture these images, but what made my night was watching Cortney experience a little bit of what Mark experiences when He pitches. It's not just everyday Cortney is able to put her feet on the mound where Mark pitches. It got even better when we pulled the tarps off the field and Cortney hit a few balls with Mark.

I am not sure how to describe in words how excited I was to be on field capturing images of Cortney and Mark, but I do hope that these images give you a glimpse into the love that these two have for each other. Over miles, weeks away from each other, and stressful ball games I hope these images will help bring joy to your hearts and peace to your minds that you are waiting for each other when you return from those long times away!! Blessing to you!

Emily & Mike Take To the Altar

Hello Everyone,

One of the things that i enjoy about my job is meeting people. For example lets take Mike and Emily: I met with Mike and Emily over a year ago to sign contracts and talk about details for me to photograph their wedding. Fast forward through 12 months of life...wait a minute!! There was so much that happened over the past 12 months, Mike was in China on business for a few weeks, Emily was teaching kindergarden (and my sweet little niece), I moved into a new studio...oh my what a crazy busy life. Then after a few meetings and conversations on the phone it is now Emily and Mikes wedding day!!

For one day...Really 8-10hrs I have the privilege and honor to capture one of the most significant/life altering celebrations of two people's crazy schedules, their gifts and talents, and families join together for life. During all this emotion of joy, excitement, nervousness, and anticipation I am capturing images. The thing that gets me the most is that there are so many other experiences in life that need to be documented and recorded but it is for this one day that we pour out our gifts and talents to capture images for Emily and Mike to never forget this incredible day! I know that I have said this before but I love my job and it is so incredible to photograph for my clients!

Thanks so much Emily and Mike! My hope is that these images continue to encourage you throughout the years together...blessings on your marriage.

Amy & Harrison Tied the Knot!

Hello Again,

There was no other place Billy and I would have desired to spent our day with than Amy and Harrison on June 27th. I asked Billy if he could share one thing that stood out about the day what would it be?? {LOVE} was his answer! I kinda laughed and said well yes but tell me more...Billy began to describe how he could not only see but feel the love that Harrison had for Amy and how Amy beamed with love for Harrison. Billy also remarked about how much we connected with the guest and family. It was the joy of celebrating with them the love of Amy and Harrison. I remember watching Amy during the slide show at the reception. You could see how proud and excited she was to be marring Harrison. Another moment for me was seeing Harrison looking across at Amy when she was not watching. It is something how LOVE can see all the great things about each other. I hope you see the great things about Amy and Harrison.

Amy and Harrison, I hope as you look over these images in the years to come, that you remember June 27th, the beginning of a lifetime of Love.

Senior Session with Tyler

Tyler is a brother of one of my past senior clients. I was excited when mom called and asked me to capture Tyler's pictures. She requested that I capture a few images by their famous and most photographed willow tree in their backyard. We headed over to the LS baseball fields to capture a few more images of one of Tyler's greatest passions...baseball. Tyler was not exactly excited about getting his picture take because he thinks he does not photograph well. Well, Tyler I think you did a great job and I hope you enjoy a few my favorites from your session.

Shelleen & Tom...totally in love!

Amanda and I had a BLAST at Shelleen and Tom's wedding. We both train at Weaver's Personal Training which Tom owns, so it made it that much more enjoyable to be able to work with a couple we know! These two are so perfect together. You can just see the love they share and it seems that every look and every smile to each other speaks a thousand words! Hello Everyone and happy 4th!!

We are excited to post another great wedding captured on June 6th. Sami and Chris married at the beautiful Hershey Garden. The girls began at the Hershey Hotel and the guys at the butterfly house at the gardens. Nicola and I captured a few images of the girls up at the Hotel before the wedding. You will see one of my favorite images of Sami with her mom (the florist who created all the amazing flowers and decor) and dad(smiling the entire day!) for their formal before the ceremony. (Intern)Billy captured prep pictures of the guys and a few fun images of Chris and the guys around the gardens near the butterfly house. All of their guest's gathered underneath the shade trees in front of the rose gardens for the 11AM ceremony. One of my most favorite things about capturing weddings is the sequence of emotions and little stories that unfold throughout the day. But, even more fun is having a great team to work with like Nicola and Billy to capture a number of different angles that tell the fullness of the story that unfolds right before our lenses. Just look at these sweet little flower girls with their butterfly wings! Sami's brother sang a song during the ceremony that left quite a few guest's in tears and in awe of his talented vocals. Another joy is to capture images of the guest and loved ones during the ceremony. You can see just a few of the emotions that pour out of mom and dad, what a joy it is to capture weddings. I hope you enjoy looking through a few of my favorite images for the day. Which sequence or images do you like?

Aleeza & Jenna B'not Mitzvah

What a wonderful experience. I have been in many countries and have seen many cultures, but I have never seen such a beautiful display of tradition, community and celebration. To witness Aleeza and Jenna share together in this life altering experience was truly a joy. With family and friends from all over gathering to be a part of the two young women's B'not Mitzvah, love was clearly present. I was honored and blessed to join Jeremy in photographically capturing one of the most significant events of the Furman family, and so many others. Holly & Joel - MARRIED!

Hello All,

Holly is the sister of one of my past grooms, and I was so excited to have been chosen to capture her wedding this year. As we talked at one of our meetings a couple weeks before the wedding, one of the things that Joel loved about the past wedding I captured was the prep of the guys. Tyler (Holly's brother) got ready at the firehouse where he volunteers (click here to see Tyler's pics)
so as Joel and I talked about where he would be getting ready, he joked about getting ready on a plane at the base where he serves...I say yeah...its got to happen!! So Joel went to work on it for us and made it happen. Great work Joel!! I can not show many of the images for security reasons but what do you think of these few??
Holly was getting ready at Cairnwood where the reception would take place. There were some incredible images of Holly's dress in the stairway. What do you think? The ceremony was at their local church were they had some incredible special music. After family formals everyone headed back over to the Cairnwood for the evening.

There was lots of fun details and events throughout the evening but one of our favorites were the first dances and the love shared between the families. What an incredible privilege it was to capture these stories! The evening entertainment was provided by the James Gerard Orchestra You will see a picture of Joel taking a picture with my camera...it was so fun to see Joel really getting into the joy of taking pictures...so I let him capture a few too!!

Laura & Jarred - MARRIED!

Hello Everyone!!

Another great May wedding to post!! Nicola, Billy(CA intern), and I captured Laura and Jarred's wedding on May 2nd. Just check out those great blossoms!! I was personally was very excited about photographing in this church because my great grandmother is the oldest living member...103yrs old!! I also remember back in the day when she was married at the church to her second husband.

I love some of the great moments captured...the nervous humor of the groomsmen in waiting, dad giving his daughter away, Laura with tears of joy, and Jarreds sister's tears of joy after the ceremony! Then to capture images of grandpa's old car and Laura and Jarred under the blossoms...I thought it couldn't get much better...but then DJ Freez rocked it out!! What a blast...Freez was mixin it up and the guest were cuttin the rug at the Historic Strasburg Inn.

Hey, my name is Billy Scanlan and I just came out from California to work with Jeremy for the summer. (No, I don't surf) What I love most about photography is capturing a moment, which cause the viewer to peer into another time, place or situation they may normally not find themselves. Great to be blogging today! I am excited to share with you some images captured by Amanda and I this past April of Mary Beth and Alan's wedding day. What a gorgeous April day!! When I drove up to the Outdoor Country Club of York I was blown away by the trees in full blossom. When I saw Mary Beth, we both got so excited about the blossoms and the beauty of the day. There is always something special about a wedding day, not because of the weather, locations or venues, its you!! As I continue to walk through my career of capturing images I am overwhelmed by people and their stories.

Mary Beth and Alan have unique stories about loss, about success, and about friendship. They were two unlikely candidates to meet or marry. But, as the ceremony unfolded, so did their story. There is much to share but let me share through images. I hope that as you view these images, you look past the beauty of the locations and looking into the beauty of who Mary Beth and Alan really are... Amy and Dean's wedding was packed with really touching moments: like when Amy and her dad saw each other for the first time and had a special dance together, but the best has gotta be the surprise horse and carriage ride that Dean's parents organized.

Amy had always wanted to drive away from the ceremony in a horse and carriage pulled by a white and brown spotted horse. After a few attempts during the planning stages it ended up falling through, but boy were they surprised when they went to get in the "get away car" and it drove off without them. Then you hear the trotting of a horse. The look on Amy's face when she saw what was happening was priceless. The best part...the horse was white with brown spots which happened to be the only horse available that day!!! I LOVE IT!

Yesterday I had a blast with Randy, Jayne and Ian for a family session! It was a little cold but they braved the wind...poor Ian was shivering but made for some cute images clutching to daddy!

Randy is a sound guy and is headed out on tour soon so it was an honor to be able to catch some family shots before hes gone for a number of weeks. Thanks for the fun times guys(and thanks for lunch...yum!) Here are a few of my favs...

Hey Everyone,

I had a blast working with Sami and Chris up at the Hershey Hotel. The hotel is under a bit of construction so we worked a few images inside the hotel and walked out behind the hotel for some garden images. As you can see, these two are crazy in love. I think I was laughing most of the time because of how playful Chris was with Sami and how Sami gave it right back to Chris. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I had fun capturing them! Levi is from Texas and well he is the size of Texas! Jackie is the sister of one of our brides from 2007 and she is all about Texas! I had so much fun working with Jackie and Levi over at Rockford. We chose to capture some images in the early morning to working the morning light. One of my most favorite images that I have captured to date at Rockford is the image with the Jackie wrapped up in Levi's arms at the fence line. Right now you can look outside and see very little opportunity to capture "pretty" environmental images. But, ask you can see you just need a little love and a little light to capture something beautiful! What do you think??

Amy and Dean are getting married next weekend and we thought it would be fun to run around at Lancaster County Park and capture a few engagement photos. My first wedding of 2009!!

Mel and Pat have many ties to Lancaster County but they live in DC. As they planed their wedding day there were a few things they desired. Pat is a graduate of F&M, so it was an easy decision to choose F&M's Nevin Chapel for the ceremony site. Next, they had a number of out of town guest, so they wanted a great hotel, Lancaster's Arts Hotel was a perfect choice. As they looked for a reception site they desired an elegant reception place with a little bit of home mixed in...Mel and Pat both grew up in the farmland of Lancaster County. So, Riverdale was the perfect fit for a beautiful ballroom with a touch of home in the olde farm house. Stacia from Petal and Beans designed the flowers. Loni and the crew from Luxe hair salon provided hair and make-up. (It was fun to just walk next door to capture a few prep images of Mel and the girls) Derek from Lavon Films documented the day through video. Char from Events by Char coordinated (She was amazing helping me work with the over 45-family members!!) DJ Freez finished the evening with great music and always a little smooth style.

Mel and Pat wanted to see each other before the ceremony and work with their over 45-family members for family pictures. Some of my most favorite pictures of the day were captured of Mel and Pat seeing each other on the F&M campus. It was incredible to see Pat's expression when he saw Mel for the first time and to see Mel react to Pat. I hope everyone enjoys the images and I look forward to blogging more soon!!

Why is this such a special occasion? Well...Debbie happens to be my little sister (but happens to be taller than me). They were married at the beautiful Landis Valley Museum. It was a lovely fall day and the colors that day were just spectacular.

A year later they celebrated their anniversary by receiving the Knot magazine featuring their wedding! You would not believe how excited Debbie was...she shrieked and I think it almost damaged my ear drum. Since we never blogged about their wedding (sorry debs) I figured now would be the perfect occasion to do so ;o) So here they are in all their glory!

Tara and I played soccer together back in our middle school days. Her and my dad coached our team together and I was so excited when I found out we were photographing their wedding. What a neat way to reconnect!

We had a blast at Tara and Bill's wedding, despite blistering cold weather. What great sports they were to brave being out in the snow to get some sweet images outside! It's not too often we get to photograph weddings with the perfect fluffy kind of snow falling to the ground! It was a picturesque winter night! And it didn't take too long to warm back up once the party started. These guys were all over the dance floor! It was a blast and we excited to share with you a lil sneak peak!

We photographed Lauren's sister's wedding a couple of years ago, so it was great to be back with their family once again for Lauren and Gary's wedding. Lauren's mom is quite the seamstress. She made all three of her daughter's wedding dresses! It was quite an emotional time as Luaren slipped into her dress knowing this is probably the last dress she'll make one. Lauren looked stunning in it and im sure her mother was proud!

I know that our posts should be all about the bride and groom, but I just couldn't resist putting in a few shots of the flower girl and ring bearer. They were two of the cutest lil kiddos ever...and the images of them just make me smile. Don't you just want to pinch those little cheeks? We had a great time hanging out with Lauren and Gary. Thanks for allowing us to continue being a part of your family's memories.

ITS HERE...CANON 5D Mark II

TODAY our CANON 5D Mark II arrived. I normally don't get too excited about new tech tools...but this...is one of the most anticipated cameras on the market right now! And we have one! We are so excited to hit the streets tomorrow night at first friday. I ordered this camera 20 minutes after it was released back in September...and well enough waiting.

Mary Beth & Alan: gettin' married

Mary Beth and Alan are gettin married in April 2009. So we decided to go run around a few great York locations for some engagement pics. We start at 8:30AM on what felt like one of the coldest mornings of the year...but we got warmed up and captured some incredible images with the sunrise and fall colors. After the park we headed into York city to a few favorite and special places.

We were all in anticipation as Jeremy's wife went into labor the day before Kim and Josh's wedding...the big question was 'will Jeremy be there to photograph the wedding!?!?'...well long story short...he was there...still wearing his hospital band and proud as ever to be daddy to their newest addition. I know Kim was pleased to see him! And to make things even better...no rain...which had been called for all day that afternoon. The day went perfectly as planned! And of course what is better than a lil Hess BBQ at the reception? yumminess! It was a great afternoon being with part of the Hess family. Celebrating love + a lil bit of Hess' BBQ = always a good time ;o)

Elegance and classy are two words we would use to describe Colleen and Kurt. They were both so relaxed through out the day! Everything flowed perfectly and these two had so much fun together which made it easy to photograph. Colleen has a grace about her that was just incredible to capture. Kurt was very reverent and you could just see by the way he looked at Colleen that he was taken by her. Just look at the images! :O)

The Boys meet little Lady Hess

Well it is 1AM and I am just putting my little baby girl down to sleep...so I thought I would blog a little more because I love my family so much and can't wait to share more with you!!

So this series of images are the boys coming in to see mommy after her very long day of giving birth. Allison's mom was watchin the boys and it was about 8:30pm in the evening. As you can see they are dressed in their pajamas. If that is not cute enough...they came bustin in the door of the hospital all excited to see mommy and their new little baby sister. So lets pick up the story line...

Hi Mommy...where is little baby hess?

wow daddy...she has ears! I kid you not...Josiah says to me..."she has ears!!" why are they so small...?? We all started laughing and the nurse said she was about to cry...(the nurse took the picture for me..great job)

Welcoming a new little Lady!!!

Hello Everyone,

You might be wondering why you have not heard much from me in a bit...well I have been preparing for Allison and my third child. I literally have been working non-stop preparing for little lady Hess to arrive around Nov. 1st...but she and mom thought it best to come a little earlier!!

So here are a few images to tell a small window of our little ladies arrival. Allison had signs of early labor Thursday AM...but they were just to get us excited for Friday...around 3AM, Allison started labor pains and around 10AM is where we pick up the story:

We are waiting in the triage unit...it was around 10:20AM Friday morning...

well...this is where the photo story stops and little lady Hess gets untangled from her umbilical cord by the help of the great staff at Womens and Babies and of course mommy!! Allison had labored through some very hard contractions into the afternoon and after a few very uncomfortable changes of positions...little lady Hess was free enough to come out and see us...

So, at 4:41pm on Oct 24th, 2008 we welcomed little lady Hess into the world.

She is getting checked by the staff in this pic as we were overwhelmed and blessed by our new, beautiful, healthy baby girl.

Jill & Jason (a super sweet couple) spent their special day in the (super sweet) town of Hershey, Pa! ;o) The day started off in the awesomely spacious Founders Hall which definitely made for a grand entrance for the guys and gals alike. I was in Cape May this past weekend with my family. One of our past brides came down for the day to meet me for a kiddo capture session at Sunset Beach. What a riot these cuties were. Dolton took a liking to a fisherman and wanted to hold the fish he caught and then try the fishing out for himself and sophia was all about not looking at the camera! But how cute are they?
